Upper management will lie and string you along promising all sorts of things, "just give me a little time". They reward hard working employees with more work and responsibility. All the hardworking employees have burnout. They keep cutting heads and the hardworking employees shoulder all the additional workload. Then they cut more and expect you to take on even more. As a result, we have lost so many A+ players who have been fed up with upper management's antics. I got a promotion without a pay raise. Its easy to coast and go under the radar. They make it very difficult to fire poor performers. Too many do the bare minimum to collect a check.

Leadership is one big clique, with a regional VP who micromanages and speaks down to other leadership. Bad business decisions continue to result in massive layoffs and office closures, and this is not exclusive to any specific market; it's been happening since the inception of XPO.
