Pros
Job is not bad for those starting their first job. Employee discount is great and they are flexible on working around for those still in school taking classes
Cons
The hourly pay is abysmal, all those long hours and the pay just doesn't cut it. You still get a raise but it's up to the regional manager to decide, NOT the store manager. So you can work hard and the regional manager can reject your plea for a pay raise. As working in retail, you're bound to encounter rude customers who destroy shoe aisles without question. Sometimes towards the end of closing time, there's always at least one family coming in like 5 minutes before closing to camp out and don't care if they're holding up the store. Biggest issue is Rack Room Rewards. Seriously? Nobody buys shoes that often for such a rewards program. Managers get on your case if can't sign up enough people for Rewards and they chew you out if you're loyalty is low. Ridiculous!
