Pros

I’ve worked at Racker for over 20 years. I’ve had the opportunity to grow and take on new responsibilities. I really enjoy the people I get to work with and am moved by the mission and vision of the agency. The agency has grown a lot over the past twenty years, and even with many challenges I have always felt that the leadership appreciated and valued the staff. It’s a great place to work.

Cons

It’s a non- profit, so funding can be challenging...

Pros

This is an agency that cares about and for people. There is utmost respect for the people we serve and the agency truly does support the ideal of helping people live in a world where they feel a sense of belonging and empowerment. As a staff member, I always feel supported, valued and appreciated by my immediate supervisors and the leadership team of the agency. I have been encouraged and supported in growing in my profession and developing my skills. My experience has consistently been that administration adheres to high ethical standards of practice. I can't imagine doing this job anywhere else and feeling the same level of commitment and care from my employer.

Cons

As a non-profit, there is a great deal of dependance on funding streams (the state, Medicaid, etc) that don't often provide adequate funding to support the important and hard work that people do in this agency. I know that Racker does as much as they can to provide better pay and benefits, but overall the field of human services tends to be lower paying, unfortunately.
