Pros

Rackspace used to be a great place to work. You still get the free sodas though as well as casual atmosphere and attire. Great co-workers, and a lot of knowledge to be gained.

Cons

Very low pay when compared to other companies. There is a large amount of work and management will not give the headcount to have the right amount of people to get the work done without burning out others. Very few frontline Rackers compared to the amount of money frontline Rackers bring the company. If you're a frontline racker, don't expect to be able to go to anything that's extra. Any events, kickoffs, quarterly Open Books... There's no coverage for you to go, so don't even bother. Or if you get to go, your team gets to cover for you, and they're then down people, which would be fine, if the team had the appropriate number of people to begin with. It doesn't seem like the company wants to keep its top talent, which are currently leaving. The company is bleeding money and talent. Current stock price - $25. That's been tanking as well. The company has no direction. Rackers don't know where the company is headed and there isn't anything communicated down.

Pros

While RAX has lost some of its luster, it's still a decent place to work: - Fueling Stations - Gym - Team Outings - Most managers are flexible and respect work-life balance - Tons of opportunity for career growth. Are some of the perks that still make this place a great place to work. Another one of the great thing is the amount of insanely intelligent people working there. While I first had my reservations about Taylor Rhodes, it turns out he is a pretty down to earth guy. He will always greet you in the halls and take some time to chat with you if possible.

Cons

- Pay isn't competitive - If you leave to go to the competition, be ready to get kicked out. Regardless if you have been there 5 years or not. No exit interview, no COBRA insurance offer either. - Don't ever get an employee Cloud Account. If you make the mistake of leaving $1000 instance on, they will not hesitate to charge you for it.
