Pros

The Content Marketing Team, or Inbound Marketing Team as it's also referred to, is a great group of people! I can honestly say that I look forward to seeing the people I work with every day. They have become my friends very quickly. Another major pro of joining this team is the amount of experience you gain immediately. It can be intimidating at first since you are thrown into the action with little to no training, but once you get your head wrapped around the job, you'll learn so much about client relationships, time management, and communication. I've greatly improved my confidence when talking to clients and managing a very full work load. When you leave, you'll have a lot of experience to talk about and great client names in your portfolio.

Cons

While there are great opportunities for professional development and personal growth, there is not a clear "next step" on this team. You'll learn a lot while you're here, but you will probably move on quickly (after 1-2 years). This causes there to be this constant feeling of change and sometimes instability. The company itself does not have many clear and organized processes in place. While this allows for creative freedom, it can cause problems when working across departments and when delivering quality work in a timely fashion.

Pros

The people at TMP are truly a wonderful group to work with. In account service, our role is essentially solving our clients challenges on a daily basis, and knowing that there is a strong bench of people working together to achieve this counts for a lot. I love the people that i work with, whether that's my team in account service, the creative team, digital project managers, digital strategists etc. It's a special group of people. We have a fantastic client base. I've worked with - and continue to work with - such a breadth of clients which means that i'm continually learning about new industries, media, ways of working etc, and also getting to work with new people across our agency. It is very difficult to get bored in this role, as each day brings a completely different task or challenge to the one before. It's an exciting time to work here. There are a lot of changes taking place at the moment - from moving to a brand new office space, to a new RVP for Chicago Account Services. All these factors make me feel like TMP is moving in a very positive direction. Development is on Management's radar more than ever before and new account wins means the team is continuing to expand and allowing more development opportunities.

Cons

It can be frustrating to get things done. It can sometimes feel like a challenge to get to the right solution at TMP - knowing who to go to, what forms / processes to adhere to, and then actually getting everyone on board to help push to the right solution. This definitely gets easier over time, however always seems to lengthen the process. Accountability. As Account Service are client facing, it can feel like accountability / responsibility from other departments is lacking in instances. Developing reports, understanding / knowledge of client objectives, quality of work is inconsistent by team. Where the situation allows, it's helpful for each TMP team member to be engaged and fully briefed on each client and their objectives. And ultimately will deliver a better output for our client.

Pros

• Opportunities for shadowing other team members are numerous; there is always a chance to learn more about something if you desire. • It is an independent environment with lots of freedom – you are truly the owner of your time and tasks. This is a great environment for a self-starter. • The mentorship in our department is incredible. Everyone is willing to share their own pieces of expertise and truly want everyone to grow as much as possible. If you are ever stuck on anything, there will always be people to help. • The overall team environment and culture is outstanding. The whole team actually cares about people as individuals and wants to know each other on a personal basis, not just inside the office walls. • You work with big name clients and that’s awesome for anyone’s resume.

Cons

• The new hire onboarding process should be more structured and thorough. There are often times seasoned employees expect new hires to understand something, but the new hires were never given the information (especially when it relates to administrative and technology related issues). • The organization of tasks is not on a good schedule. There is often time where team members aren’t doing anything because they are waiting for specific task details from a manager, but then they might get all of those details at once and be overwhelmed to get everything done by the deadline. • While general pay and benefits are good, the health insurance is expensive and there is no 401k matching.
