      Pros

      Rain Bird has always been seen as the leader in the world in irrigation equipment manufacturing and (perceived as) an excellent place to build a career and a lifetime of employment. Product quality is the best there is and brand recognition is almost universal.

      Cons

      People have absolutely no value as individuals to the corporation or senior management, in spite of their loud protestations to the contrary. Interest in the ideas of employees is given only lip service to maintain the illusion that you are a participant in the process of shaping the direction of the company, and that your input has value.

      Dont' move for Rain Bird, only agree to work their on your terms and realize you'll only be there for 2-3 years.

      Pros

      The pay wasn't bad at the beginning but over the last 3 years bonuses were cut to nothing. The bonus program has been stretched so far you cannot hit any of the goals. My fellow employees were great at first but over the last 5 years all of the good ones left.

      Cons

      Poor management, poor pay, unrealistic goals, turnover at top every few years leads to lack of continuity, employees only succeed if they "play the game" and this leads to good employees leaving in droves. Long time customers will ask you why you work for them and tell you to get out the first chance you get.

      It helps you to understand that the grass is not always greener on the other side.

      Cons

      More interested in CYA and perceptions than in improving business. Corporate version of Stepford Wives. Corporate culture is back biting and super stressful
