      Pros

      Rain Bird provides it's employees with a tremendous amount of autonomy. For a motivated, self-starter who doesn't require a large amount of oversight, this is a great company. Rain Bird highly values employees who are motivated to excel in their current role as well as future career. Top performing staff are highly compensated and enjoy an environment of risk taking, can-do strategic thinking, and creativeness. Excuses are not an option. Those who do not thrive in this type of an environment usually don't succeed at Rain Bird.

      Cons

      The multiple business units at Rain Bird sometimes require a juggling of priorities and place extra burdens on staff. Rain Bird's short term focus sometimes undermines long term success.

      Not a happy place

      Pros

      They are a leader in their field so you can create success in the market. They pay on the high end of the scale. There are management practices they do well that you can learn from.

      Cons

      This is not a happy place to work. They have a philosophy to turn over their workforce regularly and invest very little in developing employees. Much of their top management has learned to be successful by giving the owner what he wants. As a result, many of these top managers do not have the talent level you would expect for the size and success of the company.

      Work locations are great; Business is steady and profitable; There is enough turnover to find steady stream of new jobs

      Benefits are poor; management practices are antiquated; stop expecting that employees need to worship senior management;
