Pros
-Inspiring organizational mission. -Wonderful team around the world. -Great working atmosphere among peers.
Cons
-Has a very meeting-heavy work culture. -Many people, especially senior management, work from home, so there is little interaction with them during the workday, and little accountability for how their workdays are spent. -Senior management is often unsupportive and occasionally rude to junior staff who want to take initiative and present new ideas. -Complete disregard for systems and requirements around promotions. -For international staff, there is generally a very slow turnaround when working with the NYC team, as many are not cognizant/conscious of time differences for international colleagues. (i.e.: sending over important, time sensitive materials after hours or too late to use them.) It's a very "out of sight, out of mind" working mentality. -Staff outside of the NYC office are paid less and many don't receive a retirement fund/pension. -No accountability for senior staff in terms of how they spend money for work, and what the results of that spending are. -No checks and balances on how senior management spend their travel budget (i.e.: money is spent on hotels and international flights for many staff to attend the annual gala.)
