Pros

Great at fostering a community vibe, fun social activities, good people to work with

Cons

The longer you work at Kobo, the more difficult it becomes to put up with being overworked and underpaid compared to market salaries. Zero opportunity for growth or salary increase, even for employees with outstanding feedback from managers and who are on the right growth plan trajectories. No attempt to retain their existing talent, which is why turnover is so high. Unfortunately, no matter how hard you work to prove yourself, you’ll always be undervalued at Kobo.

Good company but poor management

Pros

Kobo has a good work environment, and supports technologies and generous sick-day policy + fair benefits and perks given to the employees. There are some really nice people to work with.

Cons

Mass Exodus for management and employees are on-going. Still operating like a start-up company, so lack of proper procedures and processes. Manual works Despite the growth in last couple of years, very limited new staffs hired which increases the workload like crazy. So poor work-life balance but management doesn't seems to even aware. Poor feedback structure. Very limited promotion opportunity & no room to grow in your career. Very limited on salary negotiation.
