Changed strategy all of a sudden. Management made promises and developers had to keep them. It got to the point where managers where trying to get their buddy's hired as managers and that was apparent with some managers. They were clearly unqualified but tried really hard to disguise it. One manager actually typed with one finger.

Confusion, poor management. Kobo laid off almost a third of the Toronto office and slowly the strongest employees are trickling out. What's left is a constant drive to increase revenue without much attention paid to offering a strong user experience. Promotion-wise the company is a dead end. Everyone is a manager, nobody moves up.
