      Great until downturn

      Friendly coworkers, increasing responsibilities, great manager

      Cons

      Layoffs from the 2020 downturn came suddenly and with less than two hours notice of phone calls. Not even video calls to tell you to your face. HR less than helpful in sorting out lackluster severance packages

      Always took care of us guys in the field if we needed anything we just had to ask and usually would be brought out that day.

      Not a lot of time off as expected and lack of schedule to plan days off

      Great benefits, per diem (if you live a certain distance from work), easy to move up the ladder and uniforms training and PPE are provided

      Cons

      Not really any cons for ranger but the job…it can get really hot or really cold down in south Texas and there’s a lot of work that we do each day
