Pros

RJA was a great place to work for an FA that wants the entrepreneurship and backing at the same time. They allow you to brand yourself individually while also leaning on the experience of a tenured firm. The perfect blend of independent and wirehouse.

Cons

It is not so much RJA as it is the industry. In fact RJA does a steller job of implenting the regulatory standards, it's just that unless you like your inbox being constantly snooped around in it is a tough industry to work in.

Pros

Working in Financial Services in sunny Florida. Can't do that with very many firms as RJF is rally one of the only headquartered in SW FL. People are great and there is a real family atmosphere. Company is also very well known in the Tampa area and participates actively in community events.

Cons

Very little room for growth unless someone high up likes you. If you're starting out in your career and want o move forward in the industry you'd need to make sure you are in a position that offers a track like a research associate; otherwise, you're on your own.

Pros

Raymond James is a large well known company in Florida and commands plenty of name recognition. The culture provides a good work/life balance that trancends into the community. The diversity allows opportunities throughout the organization especially as numerous inefficiencies still exist resultant from its recent and continued growth.

Cons

Raymond James headquartered in Florida allows it to be less competitive with regard to total compensation. A long term committment should still be rewarding.
