Pros

Large amount of stock and quick delivery. This app wants me to write more. I don't have more. I was in my 10th year & was so unhappy that I needed that job.

Cons

You are charged out of YOUR commission for all discounts and financing fees (which can be as high as 17%). Also if there are any issues with delivery or service the charge you back for that also.

Pros

Absolutely NON! It is simply the worst company I have ever worked in. Besides befriending some of my co-workers there is nothing good about this experience.

Cons

This is the epitome of a fear based work environment. If you complain you will be ignored or dismissed; on average employees stay 3 to 6 months before leaving; favoritism and cheating the customer is common place and rewarded; the mission to sell is simple: take as much money possible from the customer even if it means tricking them into signing off on a loan they don't understand, it doesn't matter if they can't pay as long as we get the money we will look the other way; also they will ask you for favors like coming in on a day you're not scheduled to work and staying late by attempting to guilt trip you with "Do it for the team!" or "An extra opportunity to make money!" but as soon as you need a day off or request some time off they throw you in the fire, criticize you and your performance, and make it seem like a capital offense; my uncle died while working there and they didn't care, they said his death and my time of grief is not company policy so I was marked absent and my pay deducted just so I can attend his wedding; did I mention that when I was there they expected you to sell $10k worth of furniture per week and if you didn't they subtract it from your pay which they call deficit. Between the holidays you get so into deficit that you may never get out. It's the companies way to ensure they get paid back and it doesn't change by location, rich or poor area you're screwed. Oh and I think some of the recruiters are racist. I'm not white and I told them I was raised in private schools my whole life, and I only speak a little bit of spanish. I then find myself working in one of the poorest areas in Manhattan as the Spanish representative and I'm expected to sell 10k from the start. What a surprise that in one week I only sold $500 since everyone else had to place things on hold because they were waiting for their next check. Though I don't blame the customers I blame the company for unfairly expecting me to sell the same amount of furniture as in more affluent areas with some customers so hostile with my 'white sounding' accent that they flat out refused to speak to me. Management was also incompetent and they didn;t even attempt to help the sales team. They were there to uphold the status quo. As former salesman themselves they helped some of the sales team rip off the customers knowing full well they would be in the store in a week or so screaming. They even inadvertently told us to be more 'aggressive' while selling aka lie to them. While not using those terms I knew what they were referring to. Oh and the other sale reps, the ones most liked by management, steal your sales by re-writing your tickets in their name. Management also does nothing when theft is pointed out. The thief has one story backed by the manager who tires to say its a he said she said but then after calling the customer I was told that they did indeed receive a phone call from someone else who re-wrote my sale over the phone in their name. I was then slammed by HR for involving the customer and the thief just laughed. Horrible, horrible, horrible. And I love how the owners come into the store and attempt to pedal their, "we want you to feel that this a mom and pa store so we're always visiting our locations." Later, you can hear them laughing and discussing their multiple 2 week vacations per year. Every other month they were on vacation, it's ridiculous. Lastly, Aetna was so expensive I had to give up my coverage. So pulling 60 to 80 hour weeks without health insurance. Just horrible! I can't say it enough.

Pros

Good pay, great employee discounts, always fresh faces due to the high turn over rate. Once a year the owners cook you breakfast.

Cons

The hours are awful and lets be honest, nobody shops for furniture prior to 4pm. They hold special sales every other month which mandates you work even more hours than normal. You get a 30 minute lunch regardless of how long your shift is which makes it impossible to leave the building to actually get a meal. I was hired as a manager and given a list of people to fire the first week. When I continued to refuse because there was no basis to fire them i got demoted. I was told to document these individuals "failure to follow company policy" so we wouldn't have to pay then u employment. When I went to HR with my concerns I got demoted again. Now I am a lowly sales associate working at the same store I once managed. I am waiting until my "failure to follow company policy " write ups start to quit.
