Pros

Decent salary, maternity/paternity leave is on par with competitors, decent PTO policy, some management allows flexible work scheduling but not all.

Cons

Execs got heavily fined for doing illegal stuff, now all that is trickling down to the employees. Layoffs, department shutdowns, outsourcing, RTO mandate so they get their office space tax breaks. They're heavily pushing IT work into "the cloud" so they can lay off their employees and pay AWS/Azure/IBM for it instead. Management is very hit or miss, I've had some of the best and some of the worst management I've ever experienced here. The good is really good, but the bad is so bad and doesn't ever get checked. If you try to speak up they say you can't be retaliated against, but the manager will make your life a living nightmare without consequence. Health insurance costs are obscene and the insurance is garbage, high deductables, covers little to nothing. The 401k now compensates you only in RTX stock so they can boost their stock numbers, too, which seems unethical to me but somehow is legal.

Pros

Fun, interesting problems to work on Good co-workers

Cons

Raises and promotions not keeping up with competition. Losing lots of engineers to other companies: -Newer engineers leave for pay raises - Experienced engineer is now responsible for their job, and everyone else who left. - Experienced engineers leaving because of unrealistic expectations to support multiple efforts that each require full time - Extremely stressful environment for anyone left who knows how to get anything done. I'm only here because I don't want to move my family. My wife and doctor told me I need to leave ASAP to reduce stress.

Huge Potential, But Huge Hurdles to Overcome First

Pros

There are still a few pockets of excellent engineers to work with and learn from. Must already be specialized and skilled to get into these positions. Genuinely have the opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies. Very sensitive concerning diversity and inclusion (though this can be a con for some demographics). Since this is no longer a particularly appealing company to work for, you will have some reasonable job security assuming you are moderately competent.

Cons

Horribly inflated management and HR. Not competitive pay since merger. Miserble communication in every direction. May require additional hours for no additional pay, depending on program. Little to no guidance for entry level engineers. The only help you might get are from engineers who are already overburdened. Granted that you MAY have the opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies, the probability that you will work on these projects in any meaningful or exciting way is low due to all the beuracracy that is ACTUALLY required to make this company function as it is currently structured. Most likely, there is a bit of corruption in the top ranks. Currently, there are multiple criminal probes being investigated. Do a Google search. Upper managment has a comically tragic obsession with charts.
