Pros

Had a decent budget Had a decent manager Great office environment

Cons

Still limited on what we could spend on our budget, like very micro managing of the funds, and just not a lot of leadership support of programming

Pros

The pay...but at what cost?

Cons

In 2025, there aren't many options for good creatives to make a living ... so I can understand the appeal of a place that pays this well and allows you to be fully remote. But from the annual layoffs, the weak and uninspired creative work, the soul-crushing industry regulations, the ethically questionable CEO (he blamed a lack of raises once on "Biden's Build Back Better"), the vapid day to day slog through annotations and constant fire drills, the impersonal account leads, the 40+ rounds of feedback on things like emails and banner ads, the endless "who's in charge here?" morass of chasing our tails, the pseduo/cringe culture, the general snottiness of young New Yorkers jargoning their way through their corporate circlej-rk years...none of it is worth the headache unless this is your first job and you're looking for hard life lessons. Creative work also takes a backseat to Account Teams, always...account is driving the bus, clients aren't pushed back on, and no one is going to advocate for you. Billable hours rule the day, and you will be asked to "juice" your hours under the table to justify your employment as account teams will always be looking for financial corners to cut and people to lay off. And it's a shame that there are so many truly good creatives pushed into a place like this to make a living, but as Hunter S. Thompson said "No one HAS to do something he doesn’t want to do for the rest of his life...but then again, if that’s what you wind up doing, by all means convince yourself that you HAD to do it. You’ll have lots of company.” At this place, you'll have lots of company. Until they lay you off. All of this AND they ruined the word "unicorn" for me. Onward and upward, you can do better. We all can!
