Poor leadership that trickles down

Pros

There are actually some really nice people at RealPage, and some are passionate and hard workers. If you work out of the Texas offices things are probably more stable for you. You might get lucky when it comes to compensation. Some new hires were compensated at market value.

Cons

We are known as "RealChange" internally. Unfortunately, this is in no way positive. Inability to commit to anything for over 6 months and poor leadership creates a revolving door in middle and upper management, which sabotages long term projects and goals. Horrible annual increases and deceptive salary incentives. I flat out did not receive a penny for the incentive program I agreed to. The fact that I had to really struggle to think of Pros is telling. Disclosure: I work out of one of the three remote offices that is closing.

Not a stable company

Pros

Met some great people here and the office is nice- too bad we are getting laid off and this nice office will go to waste

Cons

They recently closed their San Francisco, Chicago and Westlake Village offices and laid off staff with no recognition of time served or quality of work, so be prepared for possible future layoffs. Upper management shifts and changes direction constantly so it's difficult to have any enthusiasm or take any new processes/ideas seriously. Management plays favorites and you may be a great employee and a hard worker but you can be screwed over for promotions/raises. Company doesn't pay a competitive salary.

Pros

There's a lot of talent in San Francisco; great collaboration and great ideas are realized

Cons

The team in SF (responsible for all SaaS marketing solutions) is very undervalued, and great talent is walking out the door weekly to pursue opportunities where their suggestions and potential can be realized (over the past 6 months, 3 SEO/SEM editors, 4 web developers, 2 product managers, and an entire website division has quit/been laid off). We also have a Chicago office that lost 90% of employees earlier in the year. The executives in Texas are completely out of touch with the importance of valuing employees, and it takes far too many people's stamps of approval before a project/idea is green-lit. Lastly, compensation is more aligned with Texas wages, and it's incredibly difficult to get a substantial raise, as we tend to hire outside at a high salary rather than promote from within.
