Pros

I learned a lot about software and property management.

Cons

Never have I felt so unrewarded for working so hard. You'll get used to help create company profit that is not shared with you. You're required to defend an awful and overpriced product. The work is challenging and unfulfilling. As a support representative, the actual job conditions were barely humane. Unending calls with constant pressure to shorten call times but increase call "quality." We were allowed time off the phone once every few months- I barely had a chance to get to know co-workers. The pay was laughable when you consider the complexity of accounting, regulation knowledge, tech support, troubleshooting, and customer service that was required, plus flexibility about training on any newly acquired product. We were measured with meaningless metrics and management poorly enforced or communicated expectations. Half the jobs are being moved to the Philippines or India so there is a lot of job insecurity as well. The pressure felt relentless and I burnt out quickly. There is no point moving to another position in the company- they put a cap on pay. It seems that there are some individuals in the organization that are attempting to improve things, but I don't think things will ever get better with the current executive team. They seem ignorant and interested in profit over people.

Thank you for your post. I deep dived your situation today with Chris and Ryan who you know and are leaders of the function. So lets tick through your issues. The plan calls for the headcount in Vermont to stay flat to slightly increase in 2017. So lets put those fears to rest. We do want to improve call quality while answering customer questions as fast as we can. Not everyone thrives under this pace. But many do as attrition is not high. The issue of pay did come up in the engagement survey and that is being reviewed to the relative labor market. Chris is working on the analysis and we look forward to seeing his recommendation. The job conditions are not inhumane, we just moved into a brand new state of the art facility in a technology park. Calling the leadership ignorant is a lack of knowledge and we are very aware that without great people it impacts revenue and profitability. And we are growing organically as well as through acquisitions. At the end of the day, this job may not have been good match. I agree with your advice on the imperative of retaining talented employees. We wish you well in your future endeavors. Sincerely Kurt Twining

Pros

I can't think of a single pro to go and work for them

Cons

They have no regard or loyalty for employees who've been with them for many years. Was laid off with three hours notice and an extremely insulting severance package.

Thank you for your post. Its never easy to transition from a company. I can tell you this, when one door closes, often times a new door and hopefully a door that you want to open will be available to you. Considering that there was nothing that you felt was a positive lends me to believe you will find something more to your likening in the future. I wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Kurt Twining
