Pros
Reddy Ice has several pros - The company generally hires and promotes from within, the company has a lot of technically opportunities, and the headquarters are generally relaxed with fairly flexible hours. Fairly small company with about 90 people at OCS allows you to make a meaningful impact on the business (if your department has any resources to do so).
Cons
The cons stem primarily from being owned by private equity. The company has an absolute laser focus on always cutting costs, to the point where certain VPs might "joke" that they pay lower level employees too much. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, the company is rarely straight forward with its own employees when it comes to their livelihood. Questions about merit raises or 401k (company matches 10 cents to the dollar) are never answered straight forward. Generally when the question comes up at the town hall, the response from the CEO is "No merit raises this month/quarter, maybe next quarter", and no hard line numbers/goals are given for employees to meet. Generally the company does not value honesty and integrity, some upper management can feel threatened by younger employees, telling them they need to "pay your dues". The company has a very short term outlook and a "good ol' boys" culture has been created by upper management. If you're part of the club, you're safe, if you're not, keep your head down and do your work... But look out, because the snake might bite while you didn't have your head up.
