Pros

Laid back work atmosphere, not strict, coworkers are nice, Montreal studio location is hip and edgy, fun activities, OT food paid. Studio located near canal with several cafés and good restaurants. Looks good on resume. Working hours are pretty lax if you do your tasks. French classes are offered.

Cons

Efforts are made to integrate French into communications but it is very clear that English is necessary to work at this company, despite being in a French-speaking city. If you are Francophone, it is absolutely necessary for you to be bilingual to work here. Made us work illegal hours during crunch periods (7 consecutive days) with no compensation while scaring employees into not retaliating. Got away with it by pretending it was actually the artist's choice (actually a miracle they got away with this). This depends on the department. HR wrongfully tells employees discussing salaries is prohibited (illegal per Canadian labour laws). HR serves as to push down employees demanding fairer salaries, instead of being there to help employees. Raises are often laughable. Has periods of high crunch and down times with nothing to do. Bad planning and wasted resources. Pipeline is constantly breaking and can greatly prohibit the productivity of the artist.

Pros

-Studio is nice (Old Gsoft office so they didn't do any renovation) -Mini Cake once a month to celebrate Birthday -Coworker are really friendly and helpful -Off between Christmas and New year. (Depending on wich projetct are you working, If you are not lucky, you will be working)

Cons

-Salary is not high (Not up to Standard Business) -You will have to do more than 40 hours a week, without being compensated adequately., -The Mangement is bad... but BAD!! You cannot trust them. You will tell them something in confidence and next things you know, you are getting a meeting in HR Office with Why did you do that or why did you said that. They are making so many bad decision. They decision put a project on the verge of done being finish because they kept changing it at last minutes. They are driving people on the edge of burnout. They have so many People resigned lately, that it became funny. They don't considerate your opinion or your feeling. They are in for the money, Saying yes to the client even of it takes a toll on the employees. They will take you idea and make them their own. Also the company is based in Dallas with 120 employees. In Montreal they are 450. 1. it's still managed like it was a startup with 50 employees. 2. The infrastructure is lacking. always freezing, Crashing, Slowness for who knows why. They don't want to invest money on good stuff. 3. Dallas is afraid on loosing their job (They are the one that made the decision to come to MTL because it was cheaper) So that means they will old importantion information on you. This company has serious communication problem. No department is talking to each others. Even less in the same department. They don't respect you and individual. HR is a joke. They are serving the company and not your behalf. If you work there, do yourself a favor and don't speak to them. They will promote the people they like. If you do your job a 120 % and hope for a promotion, well I hope you have them in your pocket, because if not, Say bye bye to any career advancement. This company is toxic with the current condition and it's not worth your time and effort.
