Pros

-the people you work with will be the most dedicated artists ever -for the most part, the artists around you will push themselves and you to always do better work, and more efficiently -you get to do work from other big name studios (blue sky, dreamworks, WB, etc) -you become so efficient at what you do, that you will not be intimidated by going to a bigger studio -generally you can make changes for the better in regards to your department, depending on your supervisor. -most supervisors are helpful and know what they are doing. you can learn and grow from them.

Cons

-company politics, rumors. no matter how much they try, rumors and politics circulate down to the employees. depending on the rumor or info, it may cause you to have a bad day. -upper management won't care about you. they have no concept of employee appreciation or reinvesting. -benefits are very minimal. no perks, no bonuses, no over time pay. -jobs seem to be underbid just to get them in, which causes artists to always get overworked with no real benefit other than a 'job well done' -they seemingly do not care about long time employees quitting in mass quantities -it is the only large animation studio in the area -they dangle a carrot to keep your hopes up for future feature work, but never commit to it. -jobs seem to be understaffed a lot, causing you to work extra hours and make up their mistakes.

Pros

- Made it VERY easy to come to Texas for contracted run of show. Travel, Housing, Car all provided. - There is opportunity for staff to stay long term with the company and provide stability for family. - Nice, open working environment. - Great group of artists working there. - Well defined pipeline. - Lots of places to eat and bars nearby. - Low cost of living in area. - Lots of upcoming projects. - Plenty of available parking. - Not overly managed.

Cons

- NO OVERTIME PAY. - Pay is a low for industry. - Artists weren't involved in any sort of dailies. (at least for my project) - Majority of employees were transient freelancers and apprentices. - It's in Texas. - Had to work some Saturdays whether there was work or not. - Crunch time was longer than it needed to be, or should have been. - Some employees, especially lower management, were severely over-worked. - Horrible coffee provided, no milk for coffee.
