Pros

Nurse friendly, overtime available, positive attitudes among coworkers, supportive administration, grateful patients, groundbreaking technology and learning possibilities, amazing opportunities to mold future doctors

Cons

Heavy workload, sometimes low staffing, outdated equipment, outdated building, poor reputation in some departments which reflects upon outstanding departments, potentially dangerous/high crime area or clientele, high stress environment, difficult parking

Pros

Interesting patients, good learning opportunities. Nursing staff did not have a hostile attitude toward new nurses so the chance to learn was present. Never a dull moment and the 12 hour shifts never seemed long.

Cons

Shortages of almost all staff make some tasks difficult or unsafe. Support staff necessary to perform basic nursing care is almost non-existent on some floors. Night staffing was bare bones at best.
