Pros

At a couple of the facilities I rarely work in, there are a small handful of great and loyal therapists.

Cons

Unrealistic (to put it mildly) productivity expectations for prn therapists and therefore no work. Which means there's (prob) alot of unscrupulous practices going on per another long term therapist and my discussion. It's really sad, (not to mention unethical and illegal), because the patients/residents ultimately pay in their quality of THEIR care.

Management Encourages Fraud

Pros

Easy pay negotiation with highest hourly wage in this area.

Cons

Management fully supports & encourages therapists to group 70-80% of caseload the majority of days meaning no individual treatments, limited progress, poor outcomes & increased rehospitalizations. Productivity is pushed so hard it makes you question your morales as a therapist. Watched management undercut multiple FT, valuable therapists & focus on travelers vs. retainment of current employees. I’ve observed multiple travelers get released early from their contracts with little to no notice & the only reason is that management does not know how to manage effectively. Specifically forgetting they’d hired another contractor. BEWARE! Company appears to have no true values, only placing emphasis on their bottom line. Patients are suffering. Your therapists are suffering.

Pros

They pay you on time.

Cons

•Environment: - There is no regular communication or interaction with leadership. I’ve worked in both large and start-up companies before, and most would have some kind of setting where everyone can get on the same page, review successes, or discuss trajectory of company, making you feel like you’re part of a team. At Reliant, executives fly in each week, keep to themselves, and rarely interact with the corporate office team unless they need something. - Only status quo is incentivized. There is no strategic goal-setting for non-executives, no annual review, thus no path for advancement. - I found things to be overall secretive, even about the simplest things, including new hires. Many directors or managers come to work to find they have a new boss or colleague; whose work now absorbs some of their own scope. Whether done purposefully or not, this does not make anyone feel good about their work product and was a red flag for me. - I also found the work environment to be very toxic and I believe it starts at the top. Many of the executives don't come with a lot of experience in corporate settings and I honestly don't think many are fit for their roles. Either they were brought in by nepotism or they are brought in because they know someone. They allow unprofessional behavior amongst themselves and the work environment suffers for it. • Feedback: Feedback to management about negative behaviors by co-workers goes ignored. Some people are untouchable because of their tenure or their position in the company. • Work Life Balance: Depends on your role. I am thankful that I had a good manager who shielded me from unnecessary evening and weekend work. You won't be given a company phone nor be compensated for company calls on your personal phone. It is expected from many executives that you do things immediately even on holidays and weekends, no matter how hard you work during the week. •Benefits: - If you need good healthcare, don't work here. - PTO and the required use of PTO for holidays (yes, corporate staff have to use PTO for Christmas) was not explained to me during on-boarding. PTO must be used for all holidays, and when coupled with the standard annual PTO allotment, is substandard. This is a constant feedback item to the CEO, but he is steadfast in his refusal to allow the corporate staff to have holidays like any other corporate office in the healthcare industry. - 401k match. There is none.
