Pros

- Huge growth period coming up will result in plenty of advancement opportunities for employees - Excellent company culture - Great benefits, including a 6% 401k match and starting in 2016 we will have unlimited PTO - Very open communication from the CEO down - Really cool random activities like a Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament, a Halloween murder mystery, our Spring into Summer field day, etc.

Cons

- The free oranges in the lunchroom are in terrible shape. Who eats green oranges. Nobody.

Thanks for the great review! Really appreciate the thoughtful and thorough response. We couldn't agree more on the growth, advancement opportunities, and company culture. All really strong points for Relias. Glad to hear you're taking advantage of the benefits as well. The 401k match is on the higher end compared to industry standards and people are getting really excited about the unlimited PTO next year. Should be a nice change of pace to help improve the work/life balance for those that need a little more time away. Sorry to hear about the oranges in the lunchroom. Those have come up in conversation a couple times already. Hopefully some improvements will be made there soon. Thanks again for the glowing review. Really appreciate it.

Pros

Tries to be laid back like Silicon Valley but the whole company culture, as hard as it may try, has a stick up its rear. The free snacks are nice.

Cons

Stop doing so much, you're never going to grow based on your projections. Get a grip.

Low pay for tons of work

Pros

Very relaxed atmosphere, relaxed dress code. Great content in the LMS and fantastic courses! Love the PTO, 401k opportunities, HSA and dependent care. Reimbursement for various expenses and insurance deductibles. It's a great way to get some experience right out of college. Some very bright & talented young people to work with, and get some software experience.

Cons

I have never in my 20+ years of working been micromanaged and critiqued as much as Relias has. They only hire completely inexperienced managers who have absolutely NO CLUE what management and leadership are about. They watch every single thing you do, and treat you like you are stupid. They manage via a spreadsheet. Employees are constantly compared to one another, and nothing you do is good enough. All they care about are metrics, metrics, metrics. That is not how you manage people!!! And definitely not how you build client relationships. The LMS has constant issues and you deal with unhappy customers pretty consistently....it should be apparent by the constant contract cancellations and non-renewals. The opportunity for advancement is remote with the high level of competition (or not being friends with the right people). Extremely low pay!!!

Thanks for the feedback and the review in general. Love hearing about the pros (and couldn't agree more) but unfortunate to hear some of those cons. Sounds like most of your concern is based around management. As with any company that prefers to promote from within there are going to be managers who are in their 1st leadership position which requires a learning curve. On the other hand, there are a number of great leaders and people managers in the organization. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like that was the experience you had. If you'd like to discuss further you can always email us directly at recruitment@reliaslearning.com. We're always appreciative of the feedback from former employees. Thanks again for the review.
