      What a mess

      Some benefits are a nice touch.

      Cons

      - Disorganised sales department. Communication from leadership is scattered and poorly executed. - Constant changes in teams and job descriptions that heavily affect people's ability to do their work and causes department-wide stress and confusion. Within weeks of your being hired at Remote, your role may be eliminated but then 2-3 weeks after that, Remote decide they need the role after all. And then again a few weeks later the role is again eliminated. - Sales always comes with a level of stress, but here people fear for their jobs each and every day. It has a terrible effect on the culture. - Async work culture results in managers constantly planning meetings outside of core work hours - High attrition: Many people leave within 6 months of joining Remote.

      Pros

      Highly collaborative environment. I have only ever met one person there I didn't get along with. It's very possible to drive results in this sort of team.

      Cons

      Recent HR policy changes - "unlimited" PTO is now not really true.

      Interesting work, True async work culture, Pretty mid salary

      Pros

      Probably the biggest Elixir codebase I ever worked on. I learned so much about Elixir at Remote compared to any of my previous Elixir roles just because of the sheer number of Elixir developers that are in this company. True async work culture. I worked remotely for a very long time now, but they're all sync. This is the first time I experienced async work and it's so refreshing. There are downsides, so you do have to work hard to keep this culture, but it's great to have this kind of work arrangement. The culture regarding maintaining a Single Source of Truth (SSOT) is also one of the big perks of working at Remote. Almost everything you would ever think to ask can be found within their documentation, which enables you to do the work that you need to do without having to wait on people who are working from other timezones. The perks are also great. They invest a lot in the personal development of all of their employees. The private healthcare is top-notch in my country.

      Cons

      Your experience may vary depending on the team that you'll end up on. Also, while the salaries are pretty decent, they're not that great if you compare this role to other similar opportunities especially on a global scale. Also, before I left, the company seems to be backtracking on some of their widely advertised benefits which suggests a bad outlook on their business in the months to come.
