Pros

Remote work Contributors are driven and collaborative Compelling benefits and training package

Cons

Increasingly toxic way of working. Progress tracked in AI tokens spent. Decisions made based on ego instead of expertise. Lack of internal progression or promotions. Stripping all process in favour of vague sentiment of “just use AI”. Performance reviews are not set up to drive careers. Layoffs happen overnight with no warning or communication. A prime example of the AI-slopification of the workplace. An exhausting, unfulfilling place to work.

We appreciate your direct feedback. After three years of contributing at a senior level, you deserve a workplace where our values are genuinely lived, not just stated. The pace of change, the impact on career progression, and how we've handled transitions may have missed the mark. We're working to do better, and if you'd like to speak with leadership about any of this, please reach out to people@remote.com.

Pros

- Some really exceptional people - Async work - Good salary - Lots of autonomy

Cons

- Too much indifference all over the place - The culture disappeared at some point, probably due to hypergrowth - Some people are slacking massively. Having to depend on those people is a pure nightmare - More often than not, async is misused as no-sync - Lots of miscommunication related to Performance Reviews, e.g. how are employees rated and how does that map to promotion and salary increase

Pros

I've been lucky to meet nice people. There's lots of money into the project.

Cons

The requirements are chaotic, there is no fix roadmap for the project. As a frontend engineer you need to adapt to their way of working which is as i said, chaotic. The PM says we need this, then the entire team need to come up with the business logic and implementation. And all in a fast paced environement. Moreover, the async way of work can be nice if you know what to do. But as a 2-3 months employee, on this huge product, you will not be able to. Biggest con, if you don't adapt quicly to their way of working, and give 110%, then you're are replaced.
