If I could go back in time…..
Pros
The only positive thing I can say about this place is about my fellow staff nurses. They sure know how to work as a team and despite all of the bs this place puts you through, they maintain great attitudes. I truly don’t know how they do it.
Cons
This place is literally unreal. First, this is the lowest paying major hospital in the area, and on top of it, be prepared to be tripled with three fully critical patients every day you come to work. Be prepared to be burnt out within a few months of starting. If you’re a new grad don’t expect much, they’re still going to triple you, take you off orientation early, and they won’t have any empathy for you if you tell them it’s not doable. Seriously, I could count on one hand the amount of times I haven’t been tripled since starting here. Unfortunately, it seems like no staff is willing to do anything about the working conditions and poor staffing. HCA says they got rid of TRAPS last year—they didn’t, they’ll give you a “relocation” bonus or something along the lines, when really it’s a 2 year contract and you’re on the hook for the next two years unless you want to shell back out the money they gave you. This company is full of greed, and it will never change. We have to band together to make a difference and stop working for these companies. Please I’m begging you, do not work here, do not try to be a hero, they Do. Not. Care. You will only end up burnt out or worse. I mean it. Do not work here.
