Pros

Your basic startup cheat sheet: cold brew, pizza parties,

Cons

Where to begin: massive surprise layoffs, not diverse at all (especially in c-suite), extremely bro culture and impenetrable inner-circle of white men, sub-par products, and get-rich-quick schemes.

Don't Walk, Run

Pros

Very few worth mentioning at this disorganized business that has no plan, no growth anymore. The team members however were wonderful and talented.

Cons

Too many to count. An environment of constant fear of layoffs, absolutely no clear direction and confused management.

Pros

It's a paycheck and for me I don't have to have to talk on the phones

Cons

They will list you as a 1099 contractor when you are clearly an employee. When you ask to speak to someone about the 1099 status you never hear back from them. Which is fine, the IRS has a form you can complete (and residenthome must also complete) to verify your real status. They are severely delayed in shipping out customer's order and will have you lie repeatedly about when the orders will actually be shipped. They offer 365 risk free trial but when customers try to return they make give so much push back that a lot of customers become frustrated with the process. They want you to work over time (it's not required) but as a "1099 contractor" you're not paid overtime pay, just your standard pay. They claim you can move up in the company, but offer no real guidance as to how to do this. They expect you to work on holidays (unless those days are your regularly scheduled days off) with no extra pay. Yes, you can get bonuses for sales or saves, but it's not much. During the interview, they stated they wanted people who could make common-sense decisions but they won't actually let you make those decisions on your own. You have to constantly get approval for higher ups to process returns or reshipments. The moral was so low during the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday that a lot of people quit which created very long hold times for customers (think hours on hold to chat with someone, weeks waiting on a response via email). They literally gave us scripts to type out to customers about the delay that was complete b.s. If you NEED a job, by all means apply, but do not expect too much, unless it doesn't bother you to be lied to and to lie to customers.
