Pros

I found my role to be a great learning experience. My team was strong, approach was consistent and the work we did was meaningful. Compensation was above other agencies.

Cons

Staffing has been light in our field.

Pros

It’s extremely flexible, you are in almost completely control of your schedule and how you interact with clients and do day to day stuff. If you need to work [mostly] from home, this will get the job done for a stretch of time.

Cons

You are a punching bag for people who are unable for one reason or another to get housing. It is a position destined to fail. There is no affordable housing. Your clients can only afford to spend $0-300 a month on housing. Those places do not exist and when they do they are run down and in unsafe areas which your clients will not accept. So you will clock in and disappoint people from the moment you start until you clock out. If your not careful about separating work and home it will eat you alive at night. I got so stressed about calling clients I needed to take anti anxiety drugs just to do my weekly round ups on Friday. Not worth $16.50.

Thank you for sharing your experience and providing such detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that you appreciate the flexibility of the role and the control you have over your schedule and interactions with clients. Flexibility is something we strive to offer, understanding that it’s crucial for maintaining a work-life balance. However, we’re deeply concerned about the challenges you’ve described, particularly regarding the difficulties in finding affordable housing for clients and the impact this has had on your well-being. We understand that the lack of affordable housing is a significant and systemic issue that affects not only our clients but also the work our staff does every day. It’s disheartening to hear that this has led to such stress and anxiety for you. Your advice to management about advocating for employees when they feel uncomfortable or pushed beyond their limits is invaluable. We are committed to ensuring that all staff feel supported and heard, especially in situations where boundaries are being tested. We appreciate your candor and will take this feedback seriously as we work to improve our support systems and advocacy for our employees. We want to assure you that your concerns are important to us, and we will continue to evaluate how we can better support our team in what we know can be a very challenging role. Thank you for your contributions to our team and for bringing these issues to our attention.

Pros

Rewarding to work with people who need support. We are innovative and try new things.

Cons

Like most places we could use more people. Hopefully that improves with increased starting wages.
