Absolutely no strategic direction in the SEC LOB. It is a Titanic-like situation where the iceberg is just a short distance away. Executive team at the corporate level are doing everything possible to save the business because they see so much potential in the Smart Home market, but the viscous cycle of "shiny new object syndrome" combined with extremely long development cycles (i.e. NPI) and lackluster leadership at LOB level will cause this ship to hit the iceberg soon. They will most likely sell it off before they hit the iceberg though.
Competition is doing circles around us, literally innovating and putting out new products every 2-3 months. Took us 2-3 YEARS to release our shiny new object, which is now already 2 years outdated.
Stress levels are tremendously high; more so now than ever now that everyone is home and your managers and "leaders" expect more visibility from you. It's not a good situation and it's certainly not a fun environment to be in. Leaders say things like "you are all family to me" and then they lay you off a month later. They send you meeting invites late Sunday night for an 8am meeting on Monday. They send meeting invites for late Friday afternoon (EST) with attendees who live in Europe, stating that attendance is mandatory. Who does that? A leader who only cares about themself. There are so many lessons learned of what not to do in this company. I can go on and on, but it's not worthy any more of my time.
