Pros

Excellent training! The training is primarily technical, but also includes great mentoring on resume writing and interviewing. I was selected for a work assignment immediately after the training phase with no delay. My trainer showed genuine interest in our success and well being. The apartment was great and included all the basic furnishings. I feel infinitely better prepared to advance my career than I was before coming to Revature. I thoroughly enjoy my current work assignment. My training gave me hands on experience in the same tools I now use on the job.

Cons

The program is definitely geared towards single job seekers. if you have a significant other or dependents think hard about this before committing. There is no guarantee that you will be selected right away as I was. If you are looking to make lots of money right now this might not be for you. I view my time at Revature as an investment in my future as I gain valuable work experience.

Pros

They do provide some training Job placement

Cons

They will make you move wherever they want you to go, you have zero say. Pay is minimal when working as a developer and close to nothing while training. They cover only a small fraction of moving / travel costs Make you sign a contract under duress. Instructors have zero work experience in the field and struggle to grasp / explain the concepts they are teaching. Recruiters will tell you that pay & location are negotiable, lies, they pay everyone the lowest rate they mention and only offer a housing assistance adjustment if they make you go somewhere with really high housing costs They make it sound like your wage and or position will be merit based, again this is not true, everyone is given the same position regardless of how much / little work you do Very controlling, prying into personal life, saying if you post anything bad about them they will fire you and sue you. Constant threats of being kicked out of the program and charged for the training for a number of reasons. The training itself is incomplete and you will arrive at the work location unprepared. You can learn more in an 8 hour you tube tutorial than you will in the 12 to 15 week training

Pros

Paid training while working remote

Cons

This company operates off a predatory contract to manipulate and abuse their employees. After going through the joke of a training program that you can find everything on Google or Youtube (yeah really proprietary), you get sent to staging purgatory where you will perform meaningless bogus tasks while they "attempt" to find you a client. You will interview with the client if they find one and if you are lucky enough to make it through the interview and get selected, you will be forced to relocate to a high cost of living area on a pathetic salary (for some perspective the low end of the national average for a software developer salary is around $70k per year and Revature only pays $45k). If you are not selected for the interview, count on being "released" from their contract. In my batch's case only one person even got an interview and everyone was released after 3 days following training for no reason other than this company overhires and screws over everyone they interact with. The trainer was a joke and was never actually available to help any of the people who might have needed clarity or better understanding of the content they were learning. Revature is burning bridges left and right with their big name clients. After relocating to a new area, I had only been here about a 9 months when we got the word that we were being sent back to Revature's bench due to the company cutting ties with them. We were given a day notice on this matter. When we got sent back, everyone got "released" from the contract due to not having enough clients. We were notified the day we were suppose to start back on the bench. The communication between HR and management is abysmal and when you can get ahold of someone, they will gaslight you and you will get no real answers. I would advise anyone to look elsewhere there are better opportunities with better pay doing exactly the same thing Revature does as far as getting your foot in the door to tech and you will likely have a better experience.
