Pros

-Trainer was good and patient especially if you are relatively new to coding or have not had experience with IDE's used -Will take nearly anyone with a bachelors degree regardless of field if you are willing to learn

Cons

-Will have to work 5-10 hours each week outside of training time which is unpaid -Is currently letting people go without notice in large numbers -May have a tech stack that you do not want to learn (Java vs C++ etc...) -Do not get to pick job destination (do not love where you are currently)

Pros

I wouldn’t know. I was hired and signed the contract in July for a start date in September, a month after signing the start date was back two weeks. When September came around they informed me via email that my employment offer has been revoked “due to business reasons” TWO MONTHS after all parties signed the contract. Don’t waste a second of your time with this company. As shady as it gets outside of criminal organizations.

Cons

I was given conflicting as well as flat out false information from both the recruiter and hiring manager. You can smell the BS through the phone speaking with them, not a shred of integrity, making things up as they go along, regurgitating their spiel with the main goal of deceiving vulnerable job seekers.

Pros

Revature offers a number of tracks for training including Salesforce, Front End, Full Stack etc; I took full stack. There is a training period that includes classes, assignments, coding challenges and QA, this gives the foundations necessary to get an IT job; There is a staging period that involves prepping for interviews; With games, hot seat mock interviews and daily coding challenges, this was a lot of fun; You get to interview when they decide you are ready. The training program pays a minimum wage hourly for attending the program.

Cons

Its not kind and gentle, but this is good preparation for the real world. I had a lot of difficulty setting up my environment. They say that coding background is not required, but its impossible to absorb the large amounts of knowledge without a good foundation. Luckily I had the foundation since I took an intro to Java course before going in. Those who did well in coding generally had CS backgrounds. Also, you have to sign a two year contract.
