Pros

The company offers pretty good benefits and solid discounts on outdoor products from the brands they own, as well as other outdoor companies. There are a few genuinely good people sprinkled across the different departments. Although most of the people that made this company bearable have moved onto something better. If you are a fan of pizza parties, this might be the place for you.

Cons

The biggest issue with this company is the management at nearly every level. My direct managers often seemed like they had no real idea what they were doing, and it showed clearly in the decisions they made on a daily basis. The turnover rate is extremely high, yet little to no meaningful effort is made to improve employee retention or address the reasons people continue to leave. The management style could best be described as “strict parenting.” The company talks a lot about opportunities for advancement and career growth, but those conversations rarely go anywhere. When employees try to discuss moving up within the company, management often treats them like they are unrealistic for even asking. It also feels like leadership prioritizes employees who blindly follow directions instead of people who think independently or bring new ideas to the table. If you do bring a new idea to the table that they like, they will take it as their own and you will not receive any credit or recognition. There were also multiple promises made about company outings and performance incentives that never actually happened. Overall, the culture and atmosphere feel very off. Most employees are either brand new and already looking for a way out, or they came from companies that were acquired by Revelyst and are equally unhappy with the direction things have gone. For being an outdoor company, you would expect more support for outdoor activities, flexible scheduling, time off, or even encouragement to be active. That was not the case. The main focus seemed to be making sure you were sitting at your desk. Walks and bathroom breaks were allowed like in most companies, but time away from your desk was closely monitored, and you would hear about it if it was perceived as too long. However, management had no such requirement to be at their desks, and often it would be hours (yes hours) before you could get a response or ask questions because they were not available.

Pros

Some genuinely good workers here

Cons

Some of the worst decision-making you will ever see in your life. If you want to work at a place that’s worth your time, this is not it. I echo what every other review is saying, dont get trapped working here or for any revelyst brand. and they just bought a building in San Diego that they can’t even use and everyone saw it coming from a mile away

Pros

Good discounts, holidays parties, and some decent humans.

Cons

Toxic high school mentality. Promotions don’t seem based on merit, unless you’re tight with the core boys’ club leadership, you’re probably staying exactly where you are. Career growth feels predetermined, and the same handful of people get promoted over and over while everyone else gets overlooked. They love to say they’re open to feedback, new ideas, and pushback, but in reality if it doesn’t come from the right people, it gets shut down immediately. Different opinions aren’t welcomed, they’re ignored. Honestly, I’ve never felt more mentally drained and beat down than I did working here. Also there's a layoff every 6 months, and constantly rehiring those positions under other titles with less money, which is a joke because work-life-balance basically doesn't exist there. They also require you in 4 days a week, while leadership doesn't even come in that often, or they're always away on trips, or don't live there.
