Cons

* Small number of active research groups in CS compared to other top schools -> Limited options if your research group is not interested in taking new students -> Isolation since only your group is working to publish papers in certain conferences

Pros

Aesthetically pleasing (plethora of squirrels and trees), great people and staff and customers, good benefits especially 403B. Parking is cheap. Centrally located. Best kept secret in the city of Houston.

Cons

Tough environment in OIT now. Going through a lot of change and transition and communication between CIO and troops is weak. Higher ed is a much different animal to work in. Overtly liberal environment all the way to the top. Political dialog is not encouraged.

Pros

If you like driven, ambitious, and intelligent students, this is a perfect place to teach. The campus is beautiful, and your colleagues are the best of the best.

Cons

As a non-tenure-track Lecturer, there isn't much room for growth. There is a new Teaching Professor track, but it seems to be more of an empty title without a sizable salary increase.
