Great learning experience, a tad bit too large though.

Pros

Being a university education is valued. Training is provided and self learning is encouraged. Chance for experience with cutting edge technology.

Cons

As a company it's large, large enough that departments get siloed. Not much chance for natural progression or career advancement. Raises and promotions are very structured and have to be applied for through the HR department. The different departments can be very protective of their responsibilities and unwilling to accept assistance from other departments.

I work full time and attend graduate school in the evening. Rice reimburses me for most of my tuition.

Cons

I don't feel like there is an opportunity for advancement.
