Pros

NONE AWFUL!!! Never work here

Cons

Overworked, low pay, toxic environment, abuse etc… Hands down the worst job I’ve ever had. Everyone is miserable here. Everyone hates it. People are not paid enough so they hire people if you are a warm body it doesn’t matter if you have zero empathy or compassion they don’t care as long as you fill the position. Caretakers abuse the residents here. I saw it firsthand. They steal from residents, abandon them, isolate them from others, “forget” them in their rooms, keep them up at night if they don’t like the resident, among other awful things. They “forget” ti change residents supers and would leave them on the residents for days to weeks. They left residents that could not dress themselves half naked for hours. The staff is extremely toxic, and will force you to leave if they don’t like you. They will sit there during their shift and talk bad about everyone they also will send you direct threats if they don’t like you. Many previous staff complained that there was not enough cameras in the parking lot because they were worried about their vehicles being tampered with or them being attacked when leaving work from other staff members. When reporting bullying nothing actually happens to the bully. In fact, the director called me a crybaby for reporting bullying and harassment. Management is nonexistent…manager constantly did not do his job and set TERRIBLE examples for his staff. He would never wipe the tables down and would leave dirty dishes for the residents to use. Same with most of the dining staff. Dishwashing machine constantly used the same dirty water to wash the dishes over and over again. The water would be brown after the cleaning cycle was over. Literally a health violation. Was brought up to manager and he laughed. Nothing happened after reporting anything. Manager would staff one person in the morning to serve 40 plus residents, buss and clean all the tables, reset the tables, do ALL the dishes for memory care and assisted living side twice. But would schedule 3 plus at dinner time, scheduling made zero sense. It was awful, way too much for one person to complete it all by themselves! Food was often served moldy, old, and disgusting to residents. When this was reported to upper management it said it was “handled” but nothing ever happened. Overall, this place was the worst job I’ve ever had. I never knew how bad elder abuse was until I worked here. Do yourself a favor and never work here, you can find a higher paying job literally anywhere else!

Pros

Great opportunity to gain experience in the field. You are exposed to so many opportunities to advance your knowledge. The current medical provider is very easy to work with. It is a pretty laid back environment. The current Director of operations has recent and hands on experience and passion for patient care which is uncommon for such a high up position. This is refreshing to see!

Cons

Working in health care in this position comes with an abundance of call outs where you will often have to cover these shifts making work life balance hard. But this is part of the job.
