Pros

This is hands down the number one tech company in Austin if you want a high growth experience. It's a rocketship that is destined for massive gains. The company cares about its team, provides top notch benefits, and pays really well. But what I love the most about working at RigUp is the candor that leadership brings to the table. They made hard decisions that have positioned the business for success and continue to make the right strategic decisions to best set us up for success in the future. High performers and hard workers succeed here.

Cons

There are a lot of weak players and weak managers who work here. They continue to get 2nd chances. You are only as strong as your weakest links and because the company is a rocketship, sometimes you have to trade out your weaker players as you find new success.

Pros

The offices in Austin were nice (and empty)

Cons

A lot is already said about the terribleness of management. I can tell you also that engineering isn’t hot either. Good engineers didn’t stick around, and bad engineers were high on their own supply thinking they built a unicorn. The tech, such as it existed, sucked balls. All of the disadvantages of microservices with none of the benefits. Everything had to be changed at the same time, and it was fragile as hell. Services broke frequently, and their owners would just show you a screenshot in Slack and demand you fix it. It was slow as a dog with no-one using it. Better off just throwing all the code away.

Pros

Compensation is the only thing I can think of

Cons

I had such high hopes for this company and sadly they disappointed me. They talk all this BS about culture and living my their mission when all that is complete LIES!!!!!!!Management was horrible!!!!!!!!!! They only cared about themselves and it was a popularity contest.Company has no idea what direction it wants to go in and just drags people along for the ride just to be faced with a potential lay off later.
