Pros

-The friendships with your coworkers

Cons

-Deceptive practices: I made the mistake of believing that I was an exemplary employee and invested my heart into my role. They feigned interest in me, built me up, assured me of my positive performance regularly, manipulated me based on my strengths, and eventually eliminated me once they got what they needed. I was abandoned by my leaders in these moments; they really do follow the belief that everyone is replaceable. If you're lucky, you see it coming and quit before reaching this point. -High Turnover: Layoffs and firings are the norm. To stay employed here long-term, learn to master complete mental detachment so you can stomach the regular questionable decisions that require you to look the other way. -Management: With very few exceptions, management can not be trusted. Its best to simply do what is needed to gather a paycheck and ask for *everything* your leaders say in writing. Don't go over and above and don't let them know who you are- anything you share can be used to target you later. -Aftermath: You'll take away friendships, but you’ll leave this company either feeling relieved because you quit or psychologically mistreated and confused because you got thrown away.

Pros

There aren't to many pros except for some people that used to work there. Its a paycheck and the time off given is reasonable.

Cons

The cons are numerous. The biggest problem being management and their underlings. If you are not a favorite or part of their clique you will be brushed aside and told you are not a team player. Management does nothing and doesn't care about individuals on the teams. I was being harassed by a team leader and went to management who brushed me off then to HR who told me that I needed therapy for being attacked and belittled. This is a company that doesn't care and would rather have an unhappy wage slave then a happy employee. Its no wonder so many long time employees are leaving. There is also no way to advance up the company, after trying and expressing interest they just say no and keep you under their thumb while telling you lies on how you just need to try harder. Try and find a job somewhere else where the company and coworkers treat you like a human and not something disposable. I would not recommend working there.

Pros

The best part of Rio are the employees. About 90% of the employees are the best personally and professionally that a company could potentially hire. The benefits are good compared to what a lot of other companies offer. The job itself is a great job and very self rewarding.

Cons

Management is the biggest failing of the company. Everything is based on favoritism instead of qualifications and performance. There is no reward for working hard and going above and beyond. Those that are the laziest are the most rewarded and admired by management. They do not know what employees do and what their job tasks are therefore are incapable of being effective managers. They have no clue how to run a business and do not value the employees.
