Pros

The pay is decent enough.

Cons

- The Rio "culture" is a guise. They try to present as cool and laid-back, but that's simply not the case. It is rife with nepotism and corporate conventions. If you are not a relative of upper management, you are replaceable. - I volunteered to help with DEIB efforts. The company relies completely on volunteer efforts in this area and couldn't care less to take an active position. They will shell out their dollars to make it appear so, though. Again, it is all for appearance. - Salaried employees are treated very differently from hourly employees. Salaried employees seem to be protected, while hourly are expected to follow a more rigid and unspoken set of rules. - Employee performance reviews cannot be relied upon to gauge your job security. I was led to believe my performance was great, only to be let go without warning in a large group of firings.

Pros

Decent pay Good benefit package

Cons

From the moment I walked in, the place was very stuffy, while I understand that security is essential, the recruiter could have at least informed everyone that you will need to go through the security portals several times a day (including getting a wand used on you for a full patdown) even to get lunch. We are not allowed any personal items on the floor, must use a clear bag if we do bring anything, and all else must be kept in a locker. Please be advised that this is a warehouse, and on occasion, you will be exposed to silica dust, etc., which isn't good if you have health issues. It felt like a prison with us on lockdown. My commute was outrageous, they did not disclose that they were on the far northwest side of the city, and with gas prices, it just wasn't feasible to commit to that kind of a commute on the daily. The job itself is supposed to be hybrid, (which really isn't necessary any longer) but while working from home is a plus, on the days when we have to go into the office( and they were never clear on that) it is 25 miles from my location one way, and it just isn't worth it. I was informed during the interview that training would be about a month on-site, and it was my understanding, however, it was two days, then work from home. We were supposed to shadow with our team, but when I found out that wouldn't be happening, and with how rude the trainer was, I decided it wasn't for me. I felt like I had been given the runaround, and underpaid for the job we were supposed to do, which included returns, but were not informed until after the fact. They did not clearly explain what the job entailed, nor could define what their definition of hybrid was, I do not feel as if they knew what they wanted to do.

Pros

A huge pro is that your co-workers are smart and care about each other. Decent benefits for a retail company.

Cons

The company has lost the founders caring philosophy for its associates and their work/life balance. The company restructuring is not transparent and is creating fear and stress. People keep disappearing, but it is not slackers leaving. It is people who were productive and well liked. Warehouse Director has misogynistic attitude that has not been stopped by the organization.
