Salaried people always seem to be getting laid off. Management is somewhat strict with salaried people. Mistakes for salaried people often result in formal discipline. Discipline for union workers is less severe. Those who seek the status of being the Alpha Male are successful. The most out-spoken, confident, and bossy people are rewarded. Those who quietly and conscientiously do their jobs without drawing a lot of attention to themselves are overlooked and often targeted at layoff time.
