Pros

Excellent benefits; goal to be the best as well as be the best with less.

Cons

Constant state of flux with metal prices uncertainty. Management keeps workforce working as if they are in hamster wheel and people are fearful of being laid off. Believe in outsourcing as much as possible overseas.

Pros

The pros were higher salaries

Cons

They talk a lot of talk about safety but when it comes down to it they are to cheap to protect their employees

Pros

Reasonable compensation, huge 401k program, ESPP program, nearly annual raises, annual bonuses, interesting work and industry.

Cons

Short-sighted management at Rio Tinto. Too many "superstars" are given all the opportunities and are not held accountable for the outcomes of their decisions but are moved on to bigger and better things before they have to face the problem(s).
