Pros

+ Everyone is super passionate. If there's a way that riot can do some thing awesome for the players, everyone is immediately on board + Work alongside very talented people, some of the best in the industry + Great culture, everyone in the company (including player support, QA, etc) is encouraged to give suggestions on how to improve the game and the company as a whole (and suggestions are taken seriously) + Very open, player-focused mentality, everyone plays League of Legends, and wants to improve it for the players + Talent, creativity and consistency of execution are more important than seniority for being hired/advancing + Just a really fun place to work, everyone loves their jobs, and the shared culture makes it super easy to make friends + Very challenging work, people are always encouraged to grow and test their limits + I honestly wouldn't want to work anywhere else in the industry than Riot Games (and I've worked at other big game companies)

Cons

- Riot games is a newer company, there are some developmental hiccups, and processes are frequently shifting (although this typically leads to better processes) - It's expected that you're willing to work hard and do a good job, not a great place if you want to have an easy 9-5 sit and do nothing job :)

Pros

- Incredibly driven and talented co-workers. Some of the best people I've ever met. Gamers through and through. Very fun. - Fantastic product. Great game, incredibly fun, great business model, quickly becoming a world phenomenon. I play it daily. - More successful every day. Great pay, good (and improving) benefits, exciting new challenges. - Playful work atmosphere, great extracurricular activities and clubs, active social scene, a gamer's paradise. I nerd out about stuff going on at Riot every day.

Cons

- Long hours, often high-stress. There is a lot going on, and there is a collective feeling of "should," not "must" regarding overtime. Lots of people volunteer to stay late. I've stayed weekends maybe six times in two years. - Though there's a core-value of openness, this isn't always carried forward. Sometimes decisions are handed down rather suddenly, and I've heard the "just trust in management" argument more than once. - In response to a con in another review: they will fire you if you aren't performing. This is a results driven company, and this should be expected. That said, they will absolutely give you fair warning and work with you to see if they can correct the issue. Riot doesn't want needless turn over.

Pros

- Defining how games-as-service can operate successfully on a global scale. - I'm surrounded by the most talented people I've ever worked with. - A level of passion for the product and it's players that is unmatched by any gaming company. - Hard work and a commitment to excellence is rewarded. - Career growth opportunities abound for abound for those willing to meet the challenge.

Cons

- Work/Life balance at times can be hard due to the amazing growth of the company. - A bias toward action and self-starters. This can be intimidating to folks that have worked in more top-down organizations.
