Pros

Growth: If you want to expand your skillset and try something new within the company, upper management is incredibly supportive. They hear your feedback and act upon it, if it's within their power. Quality: Ripple really cares about giving clients quality work. We went through many layers of copy edits and checks to ensure that whatever we put out, big or small, was top notch. Communication: I was always comfortable going to my manager with any issues I had. We also had standing check-ins weekly where we had productive, two-way conversations. Work-life balance: I really enjoyed the flexible hours, the option to telework, and the fun, after hours events such as happy hour, trivia, etc. People: I met a lot of wonderful people who are passionate about what they do.

Cons

I sometimes felt quite limited by the number of hours I had to complete a project. However, this is the nature of government contracting. If I felt like I was going to run out of hours, I communicated with my supervisor and she always did her best to give me more time.

Flexible, Supportive Culture and Smart People

Pros

-Growing and gaining buzz! Ripple Effect made the Inc. 5000 and WBJ 75 lists in 2018 because of fast revenue growth; recently, leadership has received more media attention for interviews and features. Good time to be here. -Flexible work arrangements. Ripple accommodates all sorts of personal schedules and work locations with no fuss. Never a problem to work from home or from afar, long as your work gets done. Having worked at big consultancies in the past, I find this flexibility refreshing and good for my life balance. -Autonomy and learning. Everyone here is very smart; lots of PhDs and high-IQ, yet very humble people who respect one another's talents. I've been impressed with solutions that people design on their own time, and the things that people just teach themselves with no oversight or direction. -Benefits. The healthcare is excellent, and salaries & 401k are in line with market rates. Phone stipends, performance & yearly bonuses sweeten the package.

Cons

-Location in upper Rockville requires car for travel - closest Metro station (Shady Grove) is ~3 miles away -Demands adaptability. People tend to wear lots of hats here. If you're looking for a kind of autopilot, same-thing-every-day job, this won't be a good fit. -Office space is open, yet can get congested on busy mid-week days. Reserving desks is a must.

We're glad to hear you've had a great experience at Ripple! Flexibility is essential to our culture, and we think it's a must to meet employees where they are and empower everyone to do their best work. Workplaces are changing faster than most can keep up, so we have to be just as adaptable as our people are. Thanks for the feedback.

Pros

Ripple Effect is a flexible, fast paced, and fun work environment. They hire great people, respect their employees, and continuously strive to improve employee benefits and the company atmosphere. Ripple Effect is very transparent and involves employees in company-wide decisions. The result is engaged employees who care about their jobs and a company that continues to grow and be more successful every year.

Cons

The fast pace and number of high achieving employees can make starting a job at Ripple feel a little overwhelming. However, the company provides a lot of support to new employees to help them become a part of the culture and jump right in.

Thank you for this feedback. We are committed to achieving a positive environment and 'dynamic equilibrium' (balance in professional and personal spheres) for all Ripplers. We are glad that our focus on thorough onboarding, including our buddy program, has made a difference for new staff. We definitely have a high-achieving workforce and know that together we can achieve great things.
