Pros

Decent starting salary, fellow employees are extremely smart and talented in what they do and most are willing to help you whenever you need it. Our clients are amazing to work with and we tackle really interesting projects.

Cons

Constant false promises regarding promotions and raises; if you do not have a Masters degree or higher you are not looked at with the same respect by senior management even if your position doesn't require it. There is no work life balance and only those who kill themselves working long hours are rewarded. Senior management tries to take on too many project for as small as the company is, leading to burn out and resentment among the employees who actually have to do the work. The company's mission is confusing and despite numerous meetings regarding it, no one will be able to give you the same answer about what Ripple does, not even senior leadership. The CFO is constantly pushing people out if they do not agree with her stance and is extremely critical and will change her story to avoid looking like she is in the wrong. There is a reason all the best and brightest talent at the company is leaving.

Pros

The teams are great and people near your pay grade genuinely care about their coworkers and their workload. The environment is fast paced but the support from teammates was appreciated. People in your pay range work well together. Even senior team members are considerate of their subordinates and make an effort to help them grow. When I was leaving I got plenty of support in my decision and was told I’d do great things in my career and my next place.

Cons

They posted two jobs to replace me when I left. Each one was $10K more than I was making and covered most of my responsibilities. They didn’t consider my previous experiences leading teams. I was told I must “pay my dues” to validate paying what I deserved. When my first manager recommended me for a raise the deputy director at the time blocked the action with the same line. Going to HR feels intimidating. The director is very busy and dismissive. Additionally, one of the recruiters is the CEO’s daughter. The company is so small that it gets to the CEO, COO, and your team’s director ears quickly. The current division director asked one of my previous coworkers if they liked them - that isn’t professional. That coworker also had to ask for permission to speak at client meetings. I was managing up and keeping the division director on track, and they admitted it. After I left, I spoke to another teammate and they told me that the raises at the end of 2023 didn’t match the inflation and cost of life that is currently going on. It is disappointing to see a successful company skimp on employees’ pay. Especially those on the ground doing the heavy lifting. Overtime is not something offered to hourly employees. Salaried employees would move around their vacation hours and holiday hours since their overtime was so significant during conference season.

Pros

My favorite thing about Ripple Effect is the "Work Smarter" culture. The Leadership is always looking for better, more efficient ways to get things done. I've worked at a lot of places where higher ups weren't really interested in hearing about areas for improvement or out-of-the box solutions -- not so at Ripple Effect! It's nice to feel supported and encouraged to think innovatively and to challenge the status quo. My colleagues are also fantastic. It's a nice mix of people from different backgrounds but with a shared passion for learning and quality. Ripple Effect offers a lot of flexibility -- TW and flex hours help keep work-life balance.

Cons

Contract work can be demanding at times, but that's true of every job, and there are both busy and down times. The work pace is fast, but that also makes the job exciting.
