Beware of "on call" positions

Pros

The work seems interesting if you can get any.

Cons

I "worked" there for 3 months as an "on call" employee but was never given work after training despite repeatedly reaching out. I knew it would be inconsistent but not nonexistent.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your time with Ripple Effect. We appreciate that you took the time to complete the training and understand your frustration at not being able to do much work during your time with us. Because employment possibilities are contingent on various factors such as project contracts, we recognize that our on-call roles can be quite variable and, at times, might not align with every individual's expectation or needs for consistent work hours. We do our best to provide detailed company documentation, guidance, and open communication to ensure that our employees are well-informed and understand the nature of on-call positions. This includes emphasizing that consistent hours are not promised and are contingent on securing contracts. We appreciate your feedback as we are always aiming to provide individuals in these roles with greater clarity and more opportunities for meaningful work, which involves assessing available work volume before bringing on new team members. While we regret that you felt unsatisfied with your experience, we appreciate the time you took to share your comments and will use them to help create a better experience for all present and future Ripplers.

Thank you for your comments regarding working at Ripple Effect. We are pleased that you have a favorable opinion of the company’s flexible work environment and health insurance offerings. However, it is disappointing to learn that you have a negative impression of management. At Ripple Effect, we pride ourselves on the access to leadership that we provide to employees through our virtual office hours. As a current employee we invite you to explore this option. We also invite you to provide input to us through contact@rippleeffect.com.
