Pros

They are a cool company to work for. There is always something new everyday and the customers and store teams make it fun. As with any management position, it comes with stress, but It's not too bad. The experience is invaluable, in my opinion. Everyone is helpful and willing to lend a hand, even from other stores, if needed. If you work hard and show that you mean business, you should have no problem with the position. Yearly raises, Flexible schedules, extra projects throughout the district. 401K matching after a year of service.

Cons

Vacation time - you get ONE WEEK after a year with the company, another week after five years. The benefits package is not very beneficial, very expensive with very little coverage. The company has been cutting payroll, making it difficult to create an effective schedule. The theft by customers is out of control. Managers are expected to be security guards and chase down thieves for a $1 candy bar or a $2 beer. I refuse to do that. Having to take back NYS bottle deposit returns is absolutely DISGUSTING.

Pros

If you thrive on a variety of challenges and responsibilities, great place,

Cons

I quit Rite Aid 3 years ago, apparently not only has it not improved, things have gotten worse-Low pay,not enough payroll, unrealistic work load/deadlines,recognition programs that no cares about except district mgmt. and above because they are only used to reward kiss ups, totally confusing Wellness program that has too many levels, refuse to even look at customer complaints objectively, more than once I went to bat for my associates when they were abused by cust, which made me VERY unpopular with senior management.Store managers that have no idea how to lead or motivate employees.Amazed that anyone shops there, customers have told me is usually because is only drugstore close by

Pros

Job provides income at higher end of spectrum

Cons

The company strives to provide clinical services to customers so that their shareholders can gain a larger slice of the market, but they cut resources required by their professional staff to fulfill this objective. You may as well be a manager at McDonalds, at least you don't have to deal with the worry of poisoning someone with the wrong medications because you have to check a prescription in one minute without proper profile review.
