Pros

Forced to learn time management, prioritization, and strategic planning. It's a "teach yourself, sink or swim" atmosphere.

Cons

Upper management fails to embody core values. There is no training. Low volume stores have the same amount of work but operate on skeleton crews. No assistance when there are shortages. No excuses when work does not get done, even when there are shortages -even legal ones, such as a full time associate being out for work on disability or FMLA, for months! Store managers cannot hire until they have a need, once the need is filled, the stores are given no extra time for training these new associates. Employees get promoted to store managers but receive no extra training and get blamed for their lack of training. It takes months and a book of documentation to fire a cashier, but two seconds and no policy or lethal violation to get rid of a manager.

Pros

Pharmacist pay is competitive, good vacation if you stay there long enough (I got 3 weeks after 5 years). I liked the nexgen computer system.

Cons

Pharmacy techs are overwhelmed, overworked, and barely get paid over minimum wage which is horrifying. I had techs quit and go across the street to burger king and make more money. Upper management doesn't care about the employees. I would try to make up the technician schedule and it would always be denied, telling me to shave off 20 more hours, etc. None of our pharmacy techs stayed longer than a year. Corporate told me that I wasn't allowed to have any time off for my grandpa's funeral since they couldn't find me a replacement. I had a gun put to my head demanding Oxycontin and as soon as I filed the police report, I was told to immediately go back to work. Horrible place that doesn't value employees.

Pros

The only thing that was good is onsite parking so you don' t have to pay to park like if you were to work in the city.

Cons

Mangers in the Procurement department are two faced and watch everything you do to find something wrong. They did not know I was pregnant at the time of interview and I when I was offered the job I told them I was pregnant and would they accommodate me with my maternity leave and return after. The manager did not say congratulations or anything of the like... his first words were "oh..." When it got close to my due date, they started to come up with different reasons to call out and "discipline' me like making a personal phone call at my desk during my lunch hour. The direct supervisor insisted that I used hand sanitizer every time I was going to touch documents on her desk... I told her I wash my hands with soap and that wasn't enough. She would smile at me but behind closed doors she was plotting to come up with reasons to fire me. They just wanted to rid of me before I go on maternity leave and was bitter that I didn't tell them at the initial interview. By law I don't have to tell them that I'm pregnant. IF they can't tell I was 6 months pregnant, that's not my fault.
