Pros

Easy to balance work and family life. Only worked 42 hours per week. The task that were assigned to my department were simple to complete.

Cons

The holidays were very busy. The warehouse was old and dusty. There was a high rate of turnover due to low wages for regular associates.

Pros

As with any retail position, the satisfaction of providing affordable, quality goods and customer service.

Cons

Minimum wage with 2% annual increase. Benefits are sparse and/or non-existent depending on the position held. Unreliable number of hours from week to week. A history of and present violations of labor laws. Management at both the store and corporate level sweep complaints of associates "under the rug", no support system is in place for employees. A hostile work environment is allowed to exist at the store level. A phone based employee satisfaction survey is often undermined by management using intimidation tactics. I was specifically told by the store manager to give him high remarks because it "affected the store". Also, even though the survey was supposedly anonymous, he told me to call the number ASAP because I was the only employee left who had not completed the survey...? No regard for employee health/illness.
