Pros

12 hour work days allows more days off, relatively flexible hours if your staff is accomodating, numerous stores and thus ample opportunity for overtime, pay is within industry average, benefits and vacation is within industry average, 401k company match, over 5000 locations nationwide after Brooks Eckerd acquisition, friendly and approachable district manager, relatively up to date computer software, career opportunities are more available due to large company size, work and life balance is ok, company is fair and respectful, paid holidays, only require 30 hours a week to maintain full time benefits, sign on bonus for new hires depending on location

Cons

understaffed stores relative to other chain pharmacies, very rarely do the stores get pharmacist overlap and as a result, only one pharmacist working at a time, at times, you can be working by yourself with no technician help on the weekends (depending on the store volume), senior management micromanages staffing too much, huge company debt which increased further after the Brooks Eckerd acquisition, we have one of the worse customer satisfactions and perceptions in the industry, our prices are higher than average for the industry, we do not get breaks even though we work 12 hours during the weekdays, 10 hours on saturday, and 8 hours on sunday, most of the stores have drive thru

Pros

Clean, new store - Employee discount and 401k with a match - Good computer system for processing prescriptions

Cons

Very poor management. They don't look at what is important. Can't see the forest fore the trees. They try to save pennies while losing dollars. They don't train enough. They don't provide sufficient staff to take care of customers. They don't take care of internal problems. The pay doesn't match the level of responsibilities and stress.

Pros

Money and benefits. Seriously that's about it.

Cons

The majority of persons in management positions seem more interested in their personal career growth than the well-being of the company or its employees. There is a general attitude toward pharmacists as typical employees instead of health care professionals, and customers instead of patients.
