Pros

I really like the people I work with. People are friendly and most are willing to lend a hand to get the job done. Co workers take a genuine interest in one another.

Cons

Leadership at the hospital I work at are for the most part not appreciative of what you do. Rather than supporting those that work for them, making sure they have the resources to do your job, they focus on token shows of appreciation. Throwing a pizza party one day does not make up for the lack of support the rest of the days. But they pat themselves on the back and tell themselves what a great job they're doing.

Riverside Walter Reed Hospital/ A horrid place to work

Pros

The only pros that come to mind with this hospital are that if you are not employed and have no other options this place is a job. The other pro is that there are A FEW good employees here that are great people and I miss seeing them on a daily basis. Also in a hospital you get the opportunity to see and help people which to me made me feel good knowing I could help somebody else.

Cons

These are MY OPINIONS from what I've experienced here: Unless you are Caucasian or related to somebody who has been here for a long time, don't bother applying to this hospital in Gloucester. If you are remotely familiar with Gloucester or Mathews you should understand my previous sentence. This is the lowest paying hospital that I have heard of. The only reason that I can think of that employees who are hands on with patients work here is because they are from the area, they are related to somebody who got them a job there, or the fact that this hospital is "slower paced" than other hospitals. There are no opportunities to advance unless my first sentence applies to you, so another words this is a dead end job. Management has no respect for people at this hospital unless my first sentence applies to you. As long as they get their salaried check they could care less. The prejudice and favoritism at this hospital is ridiculous and a majority of people are afraid to speak up about it in fear of losing their job or being "outcast" by this gossip central staff and management that works here. On another note the benefits here are horrible. By far has to be the most I have ever payed for insurance in my life, but as long as they offer it, I guess they could care less. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone to work.

Pros

Employees that were not at the management level were enjoyable to work with.

Cons

Management-level employees really separated themselves from those that are not management and treated those that were not management-level employees as if they were much lower level and did not associate with them well I did not talk to them well and did not treat them as professionals.
