      Pros

      Getting to say you work in the space industry is pretty darn cool

      Cons

      Toxic work environment, lots of workplace bullying. A very negative and draining environment with no work/life balance. Terrible/below market pay with zero benefits. No clear progression and you get worked to the nine with little to no reward. The high staff turnover speaks for itself really…

      Great People, Great Work, Poor Management

      Pros

      The people you will work with are all cool, the work you do will be awesome, you’ll learn very quickly.

      Cons

      The pay structure is broken, technicians earn more than more qualified engineers who take on more risk. Engineers are asked and expected to work above the contracted amount of hours for no extra compensation. There is also no standard bonus which is odd for what will be a publicly listed company with a yearly review and rigid career development and pay bands. The company also hires middle managers with little to no expertise or understanding of the product which results in issues with proper resource allocation and escalation of technical risks.

We do have a number of people who come over from overseas where wage and conditions are different, however we have had our remuneration bench-marked, and for the most part we are on par with our local markets and where we are not, we are working hard to change this.       Pros

      Great for people who are really into rockets/aerospace, there is nothing else in NZ like it. You develop a special camaraderie with colleagues that only comes with working long hours under stressful situations with each other. There are some great people there. Looks great on CV.

      Cons

      Long hours. A lot of pressure and expectation from management.
